Ford Focus Recall

A recall is a request of the manufacturer for the return of a defective product.
Ford Focus cars, although they are one of the best cars manufactured by Ford,
are still vulnerable to defects and problems. According to a source, Ford had
recalled about 671,000 of the 2000 and 2001 Ford Focus models due to fuel filter
clog, which causes the engine to stall. Also for these models, there have been
572,795 2000 recalls that involved safety problems including engine fires. The
engine fires and wire melting on Ford Focus vehicles with Zetec engine could have
resulted from poorly placed battery cables. There were also complaints like loose bolt in the front suspension that
leads to separation of the ball joint, which causes noise and vibration.
With these recalls Ford offered a no-charge powertrian coverage plan for the
2003 and 2004Ford Focus that is good for five years or 100,000 miles. This can
be transferred between owners. There is also the Powertrain Extended Service Plan
that includes roadside assistance coverage.
